Research has proven that Mediterranean diet has many health benefits and improves the quality of life. Mediterranean diet foods include lots of fish, fruit and vegetables, especially onion, garlic, tomatoes, peppers, olive oil, whole grains and fresh herbs, which are both delicious and healthy.

In Mediterranean diet it is important to have fresh produce and all the food needs to be prepared fresh daily. This is an important factor that we practice here at Dubrovnik Restaurant, giving our customers the freshest and highest quality ingredients. However, there is also another very important factor in Mediterranean cuisine, to eat the food slowly and enjoy it with your friends and loved ones. Our food takes time to prepare because everything is done from scratch, but at the same time it should be consumed with a slower pace.

Due to our fast moving lifestyle, surrounded with fast food which is prepared in advance with excessive amount of oil and fats, we don’t realize what damage we are doing to our body in the long run. At Dubrovnik Restaurant, we are offering an alternative to your high fat foods and that is the home cooked Mediterranean cuisine. Even those dishes that are fried, we don’t deep fry them, but we pan fry them slowly in a small amount of oil. Even for lunch hour we have created quick, but healthy lunch option with lots of vegetables, proteins and fruits. Our Head Chef has created a menu where most of the ingredients are made in house, even our French fries are home made. We go through a long process of boiling the potatoes, cooling them off and then frying them on small amount of oil to achieve that perfect taste in the healthiest way possible.
